The Barcelona Ottoman was designed for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition alongside the Barcelona Chair. It was commissioned to welcome the Spanish royal couple, and both the building and interior furniture were designed. Since the 1990s, it has continued to sell in various countries, becoming perhaps even more famous than the architectural achievements of Mies. The innovative design of the Barcelona Chair and Ottoman lies in the use of steel bars (flat iron) welded together instead of the tubular steel that designers primarily used at the time, resulting in a sleek beauty without waste compared to the round pipes of tubular furniture, along with the crossed detail of the legs. The original Barcelona Chair and Ottoman were made of steel, but our products are made of solid stainless steel with a polished finish.
